Barack Obama Success Against All Odds

Barack_flag

“My parents shared not only an improbable love, they shared an abiding faith in the possibilities of this nation. They would give me an African name, Barack, or blessed, believing that in a tolerant America your name is no barrier to success. They imagined me going to the best schools in the land, even though they weren’t rich, because in a generous America you don’t have to be rich to achieve your potential.”

—Barack Obama

Even though I am a Republican and voted for my party, I am very impressed with Barack Obama.  He has become the most powerful man in the world against all odds and has done so with grace.

As a US Marine in Desert Storm in 1992, I spent many sleepless nights wondering if I would ever see my family again.  I took this burden on because I believe what this nation stands for, freedom, honor and achievement.  I have several friends that never made it back home to America.  They will never have the opportunity to raise a family, experience the unconditional love of a 4 year old daughter or just inhale the fresh sea air on a beautiful summer afternoon.  These things I am greatfull for.

I wake up every morning feeling blessed that I have yet another day to live life, why not live it to the fullest? Be the best father, husband, wife, employee or friend you can be.  I know it’s difficult, but defiantly worth achieving.  When my time is up on this planet and I’m old lying on my death bed, I would like my life to resemble an orange that is just pulp with no juice left.  I want every drop of potential to be squeezed out of my life when my time comes.

As for Barak Obama, I wish him the best of success.  We must do our part by taking advantage of the freedom we have been given. Soldiers lost their lives so you and I can achieve the American Dream. Lets not squander our opportunities away.

Happy Investing!
